The Water & Power Credit Union of Los Angeles, California currently has a special certificate of deposit with a 5.50% APY and 9 month term. The minimum deposit on this certificate is $5,000.

In order to get the 5.50% APY you need to open a “Free Power Checking Account” with direct deposit. Without this checking account, you can get 5.45% APY.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in many communities within greater Los Angeles area, San Fernando Valley or portions of the San Gabriel Valley. You can also be eligible via Select Employee Groups. In addition to the $5 membership fee (which may be waived as part of this special), membership requires a minimum deposit of $25 into the regular share savings account.
